On May 25th, 2018 the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation, better regarded as GDPR, became an enforceable law. The coverage was implemented in particular to create higher transparency regarding how companies take care of personal data, and to put into effect stricter requirements around the use and sharing of that non-public data.
